What should I sell?

Everyone wants to make extra money. But all the items individuals accumulate throughout their life does not always make for good inventory. Listed below are suggestions for items you can consider for consignment, as well as a list of items The Broad Run Consignment Cellar will not take.

Suggested list of Goods

The following items are things The Broad Run Consignment Cellar has found sell well within a timely manner.

  • Kids clothing of all sizes 

  • Collegiate wear

  • Sports team apparel and memorabilia

  • Women's name brand tops (Universal Threads, Lululemon, Zara, GAP, etc.)

  • Men's name brand button down shirts (Jos. A Bank, Haggar, Chaps, Eddie Bauer, etc.)

  • Children's name brand plushies (JellyCat London, Douglas, Mary Meyer, Squishmallows)

  • Collectibles (Boyd's Bears, TY Beanie Babies, etc.)

  • Disney memorabilia (snow globes, plushies, figurines, cake toppers, etc.)

  • Women's Accessories/Handbags (Dooney & Bourke, Lululemon, Vera Bradley, etc.)

  • Vintage items (jewelry, apparel, sports memorabilia, toys)

  • American Girl brand items

  • Name brand toys (Paw Patrol, Our Generation, Disney, etc.)

  • Popular themed puzzles (Harry Potter, Disney, Friends, The Office)

  • Specialty items (D&D artifacts/books) 

  • Sporting goods (soccer cleats, equestrian gear, hockey equipment, etc.) 

  • Household decor (candlesticks, etc.)

During our initial phone conversation, we can discuss specific items if you are concerned they will not sell.

The following list of merchandise are items The Broad Run Consignment Cellar DOES NOT accept.

  • Stained clothing

  • Clothing with rips, holes, etc. 

  • Clothing with compromised velcro, elastic, zippers, or buttons

  • Shoes that have holes, are tattered or will not come clean

  • Broken household goods

  • Non-working household goods (radios, lamps, small kitchen appliances)

  • Cars, trailers, motorcycles

  • Lingerie 

  • Stuffed animals with stains, holes, dirty

  • Books with torn pages, no covers, etc.

  • Large pieces of furniture*

  • Used pet supplies

  • Live animals

  • Food: opened or unopened

  • Children's toys that are missing pieces, broken, no longer work, have corroded battery compartments

  • Large Appliances (stove tops, refrigerators, dishwashers, etc.)

  • Weapons

*Large pieces of furniture will be considered, but consignors must keep the item held at their home until the sale. These items require local pick up only and will be picked up at the consignor's home. 

​

Items that are given to The Broad Run Consignment Cellar that do not meet the requirements for consignment will be automatically donated.

In essence, we want you to make money, so bring us your best merchandise!
